Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
Activities to support Operations as a Quality Representative and perform activities with: MRB; determine KPCs for Receiving, In-process and Final inspection; company compliance to AS9100C; interaction with customers and third party auditors. The job will require at times for the candidate to perform visual, mechanical and electrical inspection of purchased and fabricated parts. The individual shall have the ability to identify manufactured defects and work with Operations to implement methods to prevent production errors. The major focus of this position will be to maintain and improve the Quality systems of the company while working on improvement opportunities which result in productivity improvement.The primary duties of this position involve the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge in the field of electronics acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction.
With this advanced knowledge the person in this position must be able to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts, data or circumstances and exercise discretion and judgment.
The Quality Engineer works with minimal supervision and is expected to set appropriate priorities based on business requirements.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Process Control and analysis of manufacturing Activities
- Review and improve the inspection standards used by Staco Systems to confirm that they meet the quality requirements of customers and Certification Standards (AS9100)
- Assist in the corrective action process associated with MRB or audit programs related to final inspection of our product by providing analysis of the root cause and track the trends involved.
- Work with team to analyze product return RMAs down to component level
- Be able to collect data, interpret trends and present it to management
- Act as a liaison for the company to ensure all equipment is properly checked out for calibration testing
- Perform oversight in the first article inspection activities. Work with Engineering and/or Purchasing to resolve issues found.
- Ability to use and understand the accuracy limitations of all mechanical measuring tools (i.e., comparators, micrometers, calipers, hardness testing, etc.)
- Knowledge of electronics (Ohms Law, Read Schematics, DPDT Switching), required
- Must be proficient and understand the accuracy limitations in the use of electronic test equipment (DVM, Dielectric Tester, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Soldering)
- Ability to offer design input for test jigs to improve production quality.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skills/Experiences:
- A BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is desired
- 4 or more years working in a manufacturing environment in a process control capacity
- Must be familiar with ISO 9001, AS9100, QS9000 or TS-16949
- Must have experience working with electro-mechanical products
- Previous experience testing electrical products required
- Knowledge of MIL-PRF-22885 and QPL testing a plus
- Must be able to interpret Engineering drawings
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

- Ability to move throughout plant as required
- Ability to sit and operate a computer workstation and microscope
- Good eyesight and finger dexterity
