Electrical Test Technician

Job Summary:

Perform visual, mechanical and electrical inspection of purchased and fabricated parts. Have the ability to identify manufactured defects and modify minor production errors. The major focus of this position will be to investigate product defects to determine cause, generate solutions and review of production processes for improvement opportunities which result in quality and/or productivity improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Must possess a functional knowledge of, and put into practical use, basic electronic theory formulas (Ohms Law).
  • Must understand the function, operation and capabilities of electronic equipment such as Power Supplies, Digital Multi-Meters, high watt variable resistors and Oscilloscopes.
  • Must have an accurate understanding of schematic and drafting diagrams to configure test set-ups.
  • Understand various mechanical and pneumatic principles.
  • Possess basic soldering and assembly skills (Solder Certification a plus).
  • Interpret and record test results in MS Word or Excel.
  • Interpret and execute test procedures to requirement specifications.
  • Have accurate math and computer skills.
  • Be able to construct interface cables/harness assemblies working from schematics, drawings or verbal instructions (Drafting skill a plus).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Provide test support to other groups and co-workers.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Work well with others, have excellent communications skills both written and spoken.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures including those relating to safety and quality.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Must be familiar with ISO 9001, AS9100, QS9000 or TS-16949
  • Must have experience working with electro-mechanical products
  • Previous experience testing electrical products required
  • Knowledge of MIL-PRF-22885 and QPL testing a plus.
  • Experience with interpreting Engineering drawing requirements
  • Experienced computer knowledge is a must; as well as experience with Microsoft Office
